Caster vs. Ciel
Weapons with years and years of history, because of that history, are counted among those with mystical/mystery/supernatural/shinpi attributes. In other words, they're beyond conventional understanding. These weapons can match up against thaumaturgy.
See Parameters for a rough understanding of the ranking system. Generally, a high rank is a representation of not so much physical damage but overall strength as a mystery as well as Prana expenditure. Furthermore, STR itself is not an indicator of pure physical strength but strength in respects to the weapon being wielded. As a result, "hougu" parameter on the status screen probably applies to the special attack. Kanshou and Bakuya's Noble Phantasm C- ranking are represented by Archer's D STR and not their special abilities. Probably.
宝具
Crystallized "mysteries". Armaments made using the imagination of humans as their cores and the weapons of Heroic Spirits.
Being legendary, Noble Phantasms are far greater than other weapons. In terms of status, a C ranked Noble Phantasm is the equivalent of an A or A+ ranked normal attack.
Swords, lances, bows are among the more common ones. There are also support-type Noble Phantasms like crowns and rings.
By channeling Prana into them and releasing their true names, the real power of the Noble Phantasm is unleashed. To that effect, only the true master of the Noble Phantasm can use it. Gae Bolg can't be used by anyone other than Cu Chulainn, etc.
Of course... not all Heroic Spirits have Noble Phantasms that fall under the above definition. EMIYA's Reality Marble is technically not a Noble Phantasm. Rider's many abilities are more or less abilities she carried on as a divine spirit. Berserker and Angra Mainyu's Noble Phantasms are curses that are treated like armor. However, as they are heroes, they are naturally going to have signature powers that operate as their symbols.
Most Noble Phantasms are based on an original. The general rule for Noble Phantasms according to Goldy is the "son can't defeat the father," because with each cycle of transmigration a weapon undergoes, it becomes weaker. The actual fact is that Shirou's projected Caliburn had less power against Gilgamesh's Gram (Merodach) than during the fight against Berserker.
One possible (AKA really, really, really improbable) interpretation is that Noble Phantasms are/were actual physical objects that gain power due to the association of a past legend or a currently "ongoing legend". Therefore, continued use of a particular weapon that becomes a symbol of somebody infamous (such as the Red Baron's plane or an even stupider example....Amuro's RX-78) will eventually turn that weapon into a "mystery" or what not, as long as it's recognized in some form by humanity. On the other end of this are weapons and armor that just use the concepts of human beliefs, instead of the physical object as well, and are then processed by the planet or the gods into "real" weapons.
It should be noted that mystic eyes are not counted as being Noble Phantasms for some reason.
The current number of existing Noble Phantasms (probably best thought of as "epic treasures") is very small, but they still exist in the material world.
Further note: People tend to like making powerful Noble Phantasms
that don't have anything to do with any legends, mythical weapons, or
heroes, but the point of a "Noble Phantasm" as opposed to an ancient
artifact is the fact that it has a true name that is used by the
original hero to allow for the recreation of its true power. An
artifact without any legend or "hero" (in other words, no "true name"
or no one able to release the "true name") would just be the equivalent
of a powerful artifact, a Conceptual Weapon, or a powerful and old
Mystic Code. The exception in the modern age being the Fraga heritage,
in that their blood, ritual, and the blessings of their god allow them
to use Fragarach as a Noble Phantasm (the Answerer effect). That's the
meaning behind the blood-trait "Tradition Carriers"; having the ability
to reenact the powers of old.
Not that it's a big deal but it'd be nice if there were some fan-made
non-Noble Phantasm weapons floating around or people were conscious of
the difference between say a gauntlet of God summoning and a hammer of
a thunder god.
Avalon - The Ever Distant Utopia
The normal ability is healing injuries and preventing aging. Activation
as a Noble Phantasm causes it to come apart in hundreds of pieces and
completely protect its user from all forms of interference, a mobile
fortress. Shuts (not blocks or reflects, but shuts) out all physical
interference, transliners from parallel worlds, and multidimensional
(multiplanar; as far as the 6th) contact; including all of the five
magics. A Noble Phantasm on the level of magic. The greatest protection
in the world.
Incidentally, it can't
reflect energy bolts like in the anime. Hell it didn't even do that in
the game when Ea was used against Avalon in the real last battle. Rank:
EX
Type: Bounded Barrier
Max AOE: 1 unit
God Hand - The Twelve Trials
The normal ability is canceling any damage of B or below. Noble Phantasm ability is an extra 11 lives (yes 11 lives, not 12, meaning he has to be killed a total of twelve times).
It's effectively an armor coating the body. The reason why Berserker
looks grey is because of the God Hand. A blessing or rather a curse the
gods gave to Hercules (hence, it isn't the materialized interpretation
of his trials, it's an actual gift bestowed by the gods). Ever since
Hercules gained this, no one has been able to do any damage to him.
Confirmed that God Hand will actually develop resistance to damage
taken once. The game hints that the lives actually regenerate. Seriously. Also see Conceptual Armament entry on God Hand.
Rank: B
Type: Anti-personnel
Max AOE: 1 unit
Rho Aias - The Seven Rings that Cover the Fiery Heavens
A bronze shield covered with seven layers of oxhide that kept back the
javelin of Hector. Of course, the javelin penetrated up to the 7th
layer. It now looks like the petals of a flower when used. Each petal
is said to have the defensive strength of a fortress that would repulse
any incoming weapons. Archer has seven petals, Shirou has four. The
sole defensive armament Archer has proficiency in. It's also the cause
of many jokes when mixed with Gae Bolg.
Kibisis
An anti-sealing Noble Phantasm. Used to reverse the Breaker Gorgon barrier.
Avesta - The Universal Revelation of Inscribed Creation
A support-type Noble Phantasm that records events accurately but is
incapable of doing any damage. It was probably used to summon Avenger
in Heaven's Feel 3. By having his name removed from Avesta, the records of the person that had become Angra Mainyu were erased and he consequently became free from "order".
Bellerophon - Bridle of Chivalry
A bridle and saddle set. An unusual type of Noble Phantasm that has no
effect by itself. It looks like a golden rope when materialized. When
used on a pegasus, its limiter is cut, increasing all stats by one
rank. Defensive power also increases several times (AC is increased by
100 points), the maximum speed is 400-500km/h. Even without the bridle,
the defensive power of the pegasus is overwhelming enough to be
invulnerable to most weapons and spells. Note that the pegasus itself
isn't the Noble Phantasm. It has to be first or simultaneously summoned
using a summoning circle.
Rank: A+
Type: Anti-battalion
Range: 2-50
Max AOE: 300 units
Erukidu - Chain of Heaven
The Noble Phantasm that Gilgamesh trusted the most, even more so than
Ea. One of the few anti-god weapons that has the power to "reign over
the gods". The higher the divinity, the stronger it is. Against those
with no divinity, it's about as much trouble as a tough chain. I also have no idea how this is spelled. This could actually really be a typo of Enkidu.
Gate of Babylon - The King's Treasure
The key-like sword (which is the Noble Phantasm itself, not the vault)
to enter the golden capital of Gilgamesh. It opens a portal in space
that allows him to take out the items inside as he pleases. Goes
without saying that the more wealth he has, the stronger a Noble
Phantasm this is. Weapons in it can be thrown out like projectiles or
taken out normally. Strictly speaking, the weapons inside it aren't
Noble Phantasms but the prototypes of them, or one way of putting it,
nameless/fameless Noble Phantasms. The most dangerous thing for other
Servants though is as Gilgamesh has most of the weapons that became
Noble Phantasms in his vault, most often he'll have a weapon that had
been their weakness when they have been alive.
Rank: E-A++ (of course Ea is also in the Gate so technically he does have one EX weapon in it)
Type: Anti-personnel
Ionian Hetairoi - Army of the King
Rank EX anti-army NP. The field of battle that Iskandar's forces raced
through in the past. The landscape burned into the hearts of the heroes
that Iskandar fought and emerged victorious with.
Almost like a Realiy Marble, but the difference of this is that it
isn't Iskandar's personal internal world, it's the combined one of
Iskandar and all of his companions. Once activated, Iskandar's past
comrades (including Bucephalus) materialize one after another;
legendary heroes offered to the world as Heroic Spirits after death,
but still show their eternal loyalty and answer Iskandar's call.
Essentially, continuous summoning of independent Servants. Numbers aren't given, but it should easily surpass 100 Hassans.
Argon Coin - The Golden Fleece
Very expensive. It doesn't have a real impressive ability on its own,
but it is said to summon a dragon (the dragon that once protected it)
when flung on the ground. Just like the 7th Scripture, there's a
strange spirit living in it. Property of Caster, but
dragons/mythical-class beast summoning is not possible since she
doesn't have those skills.
Rank: EX (apparently)
Prelati's Spellbook - The Text of the Spiralled Sunken Citadel
(Alternate name is another name for the R'lyeh Text apparently).
A spellbook with a cover made of human hide, originally belonging to Prelati, a comrade of the Heaven's Feel IV Caster.
Using blood and flesh (of even their own destroyed kind) as mediums to instantiate, Prelati's Spellbook calls forth creatures that aren't spiritual bodies or Phantasm Beasts, but ones that exist in a dimension with entirely different natural laws. Each being is large, having neither a torso nor appendages; more like a bundle of countless tentacles. At what appears to be the base part of the countless tentacles is a circular mouth-like opening marked with shark-like blades.
A summoning grimoire. What's casting the incantations necessary for calling these demons one after another, reviving them, and sending them countless times at wouldbe enemies is the spellbook itself. It's not just a bundle of pages where spells are recorded on it, but a "monster" posessing it's own enormous Prana furnaces and able to conduct spells with its own independent power. Gilles de Rais is not reading the spells from its pages to summon the creatures, but is able to "command" freely the "thing" that's doing the casting.
On another note, Saber (with one of her arms sealed due to the golden lance) killed over 500 of the summoned creatures by herself, but it was pretty clear there was no end to these creatures at that point. Later reinforcement by Diarmuid resulted in an additional 500 kills before the two finally decided to go by a different battle approach.
Breaker Gorgon - Self-Seal, Temple of Darkness
The eye-blinds Rider uses to seal her mystic eyes. Locks the target's
mind (or her eyes) within a world/barrier (her own mind). Can be used
to hold the target in place and prevent it from attacking.
Rank: C-
Type: Anti-personnel
Range: 0
Max AOE: 1 unit
Rule Breaker - Destroyer of All Talismans
A knife that will destroy any sort of thaumaturgy. Objects reinforced
with Prana, connections bounded through contracts, creatures made
through Prana will be returned to a state before "they were made". Of
course, there's a limit to this. No matter how low the rank of a Noble
Phantasm, Rule Breaker is unable to return it to its original state.
Rank: C
Type: Anti-thaumaturgy
Range: 1
Max AOE: 1 unit
Potion of Youth
Used by Gilgamesh after the 4th war and during hollow ataraxia to make
him blend in more and be more sociable, which is exactly why he didn't
cause a big ruckus after the 4th war.
Fragarach - The Sword of the Gorging War God.
Full name - Answerer Fragarach - That Which Comes Later Cuts First, the Sword of the Gorging War God.
Sword of Retrograde. The ultimate counter-attack weapon. A conceptual curse that warps destiny. A divine trick that uses time as a weapon. Really the equivalent of a bolt of light when used but the extra effect that it makes is what makes it useful. Warps causality to always strike the opponent right before he unleashes his ultimate attack; even if the attack of the enemy is made first, the fact that it happens is rewritten so that Fragarach hits it before. What Fragarach gorges out isn't the heart of the enemy, but the destiny of both user and enemy simultaneously killing each other. The attack of the enemy that's released is wiped out as it's returned into an attack that "couldn't happen," the law of the world, the absolute system of time. After all, no matter how powerful or fast the attack is, it won't do anything because the enemy that is defeated first won't have a chance to attack.
One of the few remaining Noble Phantasms maintained by the Fraga bloodline. Made by pouring Bazett's blood on a ball of metal, conducting a ritual, and leaving it in the basement for one month. Around ten can be made per year using this method. Doesn't really sound fair at all.
When in use, the metal ball floats around Bazett. Activation is initiated in response to the trump card where it then generates a blade followed by Bazett punching it. A container is used to hold a fair number of balls.
It's powerful but not as good against those that can resurrect themselves after being killed once (Berserker). Also, only responds that way in regards to the trump card of the opponent, whether it's a Noble Phantasm or not. Can be used normally, but it is the equivalent of a C or D ranked Noble Phantasm when used without those special conditions (the non-Answerer effect).
As for it's effects against opponents with abilities other than that, one thing to keep in mind is that concepts are defeated by concepts.
Gae Bolg - The Spear of Impaling Barbed Death/The Spear of Striking Death Flight
The spear that had only taken the lives of the ones Cu Chulainn loved.
A cursed spear that will always go through the heart of the opponent when struck. Reverses causality in which the spear is launched after the truth that the heart had already been hit had been constructed. Since the spear had already hit the target, no matter what he might do, he can't avoid it. Surviving through Gae Bolg will require an auto-resurrect Noble Phantasm or high LCK or a defensive barrier that surpasses the Prana of Gae Bolg. Damage taken by Gae Bolg will not be able to be recovered from as long as Gae Bolg continues to exist (not exactly true, but well, close enough: Avalon was able to allow recovery: this also applies to normal mode Gae Bolg). Prana consumption is relatively low compared to its destiny interference ability and it can be used 7 times without needing to be refilled. Gae Bolg's true ability is as a thrown weapon, however, in which the full power of the curse of Gae Bolg is unleashed. Emphasis in this case is on destructive power rather than targeting accuracy. Damage and form are approaching that of Lugh's Brionac, but the power of "striking the enemy no matter how many times he may dodge" comes from Odin's Gungnir.
Gilgamesh has the base of this in his vault (and used to strike Berserker in the heart).
If Fragarach is a curse that switches the order of attack, Gae Bolg is a cursed spear that reverses causality. Even if Fragarach rewrites the fact that Gae Bolg was hurled first, it'll just wind back. The moment Gae Bolg's true name was released, Gae Bolg already held the result of hitting the heart. Even if time is returned to the point before activation and kills the user, it's meaningless. The spear having the result of piercing a heart will fulfill its role even if its master's died before he could initiate his attack.
Impaling Barbed Death will even kill Arc provided her luck roll fails. Also, Impaling Barbed Death (and probably Death Flight) will turn into a thousand thorns upon impact.
The Spear of Impaling Barbed Death

Void Avesta - The False Copy of Inscribed Creation
One of the simplest curses of retribution. A third-rate Noble Phantasm
that works by having the damage dealt to the user also be taken by the
attacker, by reflecting that damage on the attacker's soul. As a
result, the damage won't heal until Avenger's wounds are healed. The
reflected damage isn't actual physical damage but the pain associated
with it. It can only work once on one opponent and the curser must
still be alive. Furthermore, it isn't automatic and has to be
consciously activated by the caster. However, while other such damage
returning curses will be reversed back by people with resistance as
high as Heroic Servants, this one will work even on someone like Saber.
The pronunciation is "Verg", but based on the text in the opening and the overall theme, the context of it ought to be relating to emptiness, nothingness, or void. It could also be Vargr, because of the wolf-like appearance of the mukuro in hollow ataraxia. Of course....that word has nothing to do with the Avestan language.
Angra Mainyu - All the World's Evil
A curse that that had put all of the evils of the world on one person;
the person that became Angra Mainyu. Not a very useful one. The result
is that even when losing the shell of a class, the normally
directionless/alignmentless Prana of a Servant soul still has an
alignment directed towards killing people. The alignment of Angra
Mainyu itself could be said to be his Noble Phantasm. Normally not a
problem at all, but given the way how the Heaven's Feel works....
Incarnation of it in the 4th and the 5th wars is as an enormous curse
on all things in the world. Materializes as black mud initially (which
will move on to the shape of a giant human in the latter stages) that
dissolves and absorbs the flesh and soul of whoever gets in contact
with it. If the person somehow doesn't get dissolved, then he'll go mad
or have to deal with its after effects. A person with an extremely
strong ego can avoid it. Heroic Spirits (or probably because the fact
that they are heroes) will be affected by it as well in the form of
receiving cursed flesh. Personally,
if Angra Mainyu was actually born, I think it would have been like an
End of Evangellion ending with an evil Ayanami Rei instead.
Enuma Elish - Ea - The Star of Creation that Split Heaven and Earth
The sword of rupture.
A weapon that slices through space itself. While Excalibur releases air, the sword draws it in by cycling its triblades and compresses it. The highly compressed wind pressure strata results in the creation of an artificial space-time rift that is thought to be the basis of all legends of lands of the dead, the origin of the memory of all organisms. In other words, Ea can be said to be a key to hell itself or rather absolute "truth" according to Gilgamesh. Something that is not found in the imagination or in the spoken memory of people, but in the genetically inherent and repressed knowledge of a place and time when organic existence had been impossible on this planet.
The activation name for the Noble Phantasm is Ea, however, the sword has no true name; Gilgamesh just calls it that. Enuma Elish is added to get the maximum output. Damage is STR x 20. At random, MGI will be added on to STR. Maximum damage is 4000, but vault items can and will increase this. Damage is so high that it is undefendable except through purge-resistant AC or nullification by striking the blast with an equally strong attack.
Randomly picked up a book on mythical weapons, flipped through one of the pages to find an entry about the sword of Ea. Apparently, there was a sword that Ea used to kill the god, Ullikummi, a stone giant, and a very strong one at that, able to fend off the attacks of some 70 gods. A magic sword that separated heaven and earth, which cleaved through the ankles of the giant (his body was allegedly indestructible). The giant collapsed and died.

Excalibur - Sword of Promised Victory
The sword of light.
A divine construction, forged by the planet. The pinnacle of holy swords. The stored wishes of mankind that had become crystallized and tempered within the planet. It had been guarded by the extensions of the planet (High Spirits/fairies) but had passed briefly into the hands of a King Arthur. Transforms the user's Prana into light, and augments the kinetic force by convergence and acceleration. A holy sword that allows for the use of Divine Spirit level thaumaturgy. Also, as its transforming the user's own Prana, the alignment of the sword will also change based on that, hence Black Excalibur's appearance. Length is some 90cm, width of 12cm.
Range: A++
Type: Anti-fortress
Range: 1-99
Max AOE: 1000 units
And since some people seem to be underestimating Excalibur (just like how people always seem to underestimate Fate character levels because of Deen's subpar effects)
Broad Bridge sequence - in-game display shows a light shockwave
expanding beyond this screen meaning radius is larger than just that
After full expansion of the above.
Also, ->
Picture from Realta Nua. Yellow light being Excalibur. Also note the location.
Hrunting - The Hound of the Red Plains
The sword used to kill the mother of Grendel. When used by Archer as a
Broken Phantasm, it will continue to pursue the target, even if
parried, repulsed, or avoided, as long as he continues to aim at the
target. It's strong enough to pierce through 4 layers of Rho Aias and
still continue closing in on the target.
Caladbolg II - The Fake Spiral Sword
A modification of the original Caladbolg, which was the sword of
Fergus, hence the II. Used by Archer. It's energy output when used as a
Broken Phantasm has a rank of approximately A. If used by one who has
ties to Ulster, Cu Chulainn must lose to it once due to his Geis.
Kanshou and Bakuya - Gan Jiang and Mo Ye
Kanshou, the sword of Yang, and Bakuya, the sword of Yin.
The dual swords used preferably by Archer. Rank as Noble Phantasms is C-. "Married" swords among which such strong bonds exist that they will return to the hands of the owner, should there even be some trouble in which they're lost. (This can be used in combat also; if one blade is thrown, it will return back, as in fly back towards the user, due to the bond to the other blade. Image-wise, a boomerang like effect).
Sword quality is high for both, but they also have shamanistic and ritual aspects as enchanted weapons. They can be thrown and will return automatically to the user as long as the other one is still being held. They also have protection against thaumaturgy properties. Equipping them will result in raising of anti-thaumaturgy and anti-physical stats.
Added by Archer on the blades are words that may seem like anti-demonic charms. The true meaning to these words though is not ideology (nothing to do with the story behind these swords), but swordsmanship based on foundations.
Our souls, hard while firm
Our power, ripping the mountains
Our swords, splitting the water
Our names, reaching the villa
- Only one among us can stand under heaven.
(Based sort of on the simpler-to-understand version of the poem (the original isn't even really Chinese)- the last line to clear up any future misunderstandings is more or less saying the world isn't big enough for you and me, so I'm going to kill you; or something like that)
This is more or less a representation of a technique/strategy that Archer uses with Kanshou and Bakuya; consecutive tracing. Tracing 3 sets of Kanshou and Bakuya ahead of time and then projecting them when necessary.
Shirou's use of it differed from Archer's. The first line coincides with the first set that is thrown at the target, the second set is projected for close combat while the first set (each sword coming separately) returns and hits the opponent from behind; this is where the second and third line comes. The final set is used to finish off the enemy while his guard is broken; and hence where the last 2 line comes. A skill that was downloaded by Shirou from Kanshou and Bakuya in one of the possible fights against Saber. Basically, a methodical strategy at rendering the opponent defenseless.
Archer's normal use of it is meant to be through 2 series of X-shaped slashes overlayed over each other (and not thrown either) followed by a reinforced version of Kanshou and Bakuya in the final projection. This would be the winged version seen in the anime, Kanshou and Bakuya Overedge.
Low-rank in comparison to the other Noble Phantasms but dual-wield/experience/tracing time makes them very reliable. There had been creation ideology to them; they were made for the sake of being made; which is the point that Shirou liked about them the most when he first saw them - these are beautiful swords, not because of what they represent, but because of the craftsmanship itself.
Merodach - The Original Sin
The basis of the swords Gram and Caliburn. Gilgamesh has this in his vault.
A type of halberd used in China. Originally a kind of polearm for thrusting and hammering which could serve a variety of functions. Could serve the appropriate role for any troop type due to ease of handling but fell out of favor as the dynasties came and went. Returned in the Sung dynasty as Fang Tian Ji. Fang Tian Ji had applications for thrusting, cutting away, drawing in, repelling, and many other roles. However, due to the difficulty of these applications, usage required great skill. Crescent moon shaped blades are called moon fangs and when only on one side of the halberd, the proper name is Blue Dragon Halberd. While there are others, only the one used by Lu Bu had become a "Noble Phantasm."
Gilgamesh has the original in his vault.
Nine Lives - The Shooting Hundred Heads
The Noble Phantasm that Heroic Spirit Hercules had relied on the most.
The bows and arrows that destroyed the hydra. Afterwards, the ability
of it was mimicked in an attack method which could be used with other
weapons, such as a large sword. In other words, more like the Noble
Phantasm art of Nine Lives. The main "Nine Lives" used by Hercules is
supposed to be an anti-phantasm beast, dragon-type 9-shot simultaneous
homing laser volley.
Harpe - The Snake-Hunter Sickle
What Perseus used to kill the Gorgon. Not that great a weapon, but
possesses the ability of "refraction prolonging", a divine skill that
cancels out special abilities from immortality and prevents recovery of
wounds taken by Harpe. Probably would make a good anti-Dead Apostle weapon. (Healing by natural means is possible). Gilgamesh has the original in his vault.
???
The original Harpe. Apparently could pass through the defense of the
enemy as if it were there and deal damage. At least in the game anyway.
Which would also be why the Fatal/Fake people thought it would be a
good idea to make it an unblockable attack.
Vajra
One of the symbols of lightning god Indra of Vedic mythology.
Indra had originally been a phenomenon that spread from the Aryans into India. The proper name is Vjaya.
But, as the era turned over to Buddhism and his name changed into Taishakuten, the name of his divine symbol also changed.
In addition, Vajra is the diamond powder that the gods of Buddhism carry.
A weapon that can be launched just once, with damage the equivalent of B+. A simple weapon that will deal damage separate from the Prana of its user. Gilgamesh has the original in his vault.
Gram
Enchanted sword Gram. The sword of the sun. The sword of glory and
destruction of Sigurd of the Volsunga Saga. The source of King Arthur's
Caliburn.
A sword of appointment lodged in the great tree of the king of Volsung, just as the Caliburn was lodged in a stone. The legend of Gram and its master, Sigurd, is a tale ripe with glory and destruction fitting the great hero.
The later compiled medieval Germany retelling, called the "Ring of Nibelungenlied", is a story of a night on the ranks of the legend of King Arthur. Gram's name in this was changed to Balmung.
The greatest of enchanted swords rivaling the greatest of holy blades, and is even equipped with special dragon slaying attributes. The natural enemy of the king of knights.
Like Caliburn, based on Merodach.
Brionac - The Five Roaring Stars
The spear of Lugh.
Durendal
The holy sword of the paladin, Roland.
A gift from an angel that Charlemagne gave to Roland of the Twelve Peers. A dazzling sword possessing three miracles that will allow it to maintain its sharpness even when the Prana of the user is exhausted.
Gilgamesh has the original in his vault.
Gungnir - The Declaration of the Elder God
The spear of Odin and the source of Gae Bolg. Lancer's Gae Bolg has
apparently surpassed it (at least as a hurled weapon when used against
Rho Aias).
Dainslef
The enchanted sword of Nibelung.
A cursed Noble Phantasm that grants disaster to its master. The sword of the clan that killed Sigurd and originally among one of the weapons hoarded by the dragon Fafnir. Has the powerful curse of "reparation" to be used on its target, but will also drive down the fate of its owner towards ruin. While dark and holy swords carry with them both glory and destruction, Dainslef is said to only bring the latter onto its master.
Gilgamesh has the original in his vault.
??
True name unknown. Found in Gilgamesh's vault. An invisible sword.
??
True name unknown. Found in Gilgamesh's vault. A sword of ice used for freezing the target and the surrounding area.
??
A bronze mirror-like shield that projects information from the
surrounding environment on its surface so the user can rely on that
information to move around without having to move himself away from the
mirror. It can also be used as a sort of detection device as it
transmits the heartbeats of those in the area. Used by Perseus.
Hazanken
A weapon in Chinese legends. Can only be swung, but said to be able to even slice through mountains.
Caliburn - The Golden Sword of Destined Victory
The holy sword that is the symbol of England's king of knights, King
Arthur. The symbol of the king, pulled from the stone of appointment by
the guidance of Merlin.
Different from the holy sword of the Lady of the Lake and so, has somewhat different qualities as a Noble Phantasm. But to Saber, Caliburn is the one that she has a stronger attachment to.
Because swords are symbols of authority, the swords of kings are often lowered to the role of being fancy decorations. The biggest difference between Excalibur and Caliburn is that particular point. The cost of being a dazzling sword is that weapon's grade is inferior to Excalibur. By the legends, it was broken in a battle in which the rules of chivalry had been broken by Arthur.
Derived from Gram and Merodach. Killed Berserker 7 times (or another way of looking at it: Shirou's Caliburn + Saber = 7 Berserker deaths).
Gae Buidhe - Golden Rose of Mortality
One of Diarmuid's Noble Phantasms. Prevents healing of injuries inflicted by it.
Gae Dearg - Crimson Rose of Exorcism
The other of Diarmuid's Noble Phantasms. Shuts off currents of Prana,
cancelling it on the moment of contact (but only on and during the
moment of contact, not afterwards). Able to neutralize the 4th
Berserker's NP effects and Saber's armor and Invisible Air.
Gordius Wheel - Wheel of Heaven's Authority
An old-style and elegantly decorated chariot pulled by two animals and
can be said to be the Noble Phantasm that defines Iskandar as a Rider.
Originally something offered to Zeus by King Gordius and by Iskandar cutting those reigns, Iskandar obtained it. When calling this Noble Phantasm, he follows a similar procedure and uses the sword by his hip to slash not the reigns but space itself. It is from this sliced space that the chariot appears.
Combat strength is on the level of strategic bombers if compared to
modern weaponry and ought to scorch the Shinto area in a little less
than an hour.
The area covered by these muscular and beautiful oxen (divine bulls) covers not just the earth but the skies.
Once the hooves of the bulls and the wheels clash against the air, Prana matching one full attack of Saber and Lancer, as well as lightning will surge, causing the roar of thunder. Seemingly the bulls aren't hitting the ground, but lightning, as they gallop.
Basically the holy fudge, I've got the bulls of a god! type of deal.
Technically powerful thaumaturgy rather than Noble Phantasms. Activation is similar to Noble Phantasms.
Unlimited Blade Works - Mugen no Kensei
Treated like a Noble Phantasm, but to be accurate, it's thaumaturgy. Able to use a Reality Marble, with no penalties. Exactly what are those penalties? Who knows.
In this Reality Marble, the substances needed to form all swords are present. Just by looking at the original, it is possible to replicate it. However, the replicated weapon is lowered by one rank. Defensive armaments are possible but the normal projection cost is two to three times the regular amount of Prana used in making swords. A weapon replicated once is recorded in the barrier and can be made without activating the Reality Marble using tracing thaumaturgy.
Against a normal opponent, it's only an ability that's somewhat troublesome, but it's the ultimate counter against a certain king of heroes.
The substances involved in the creation of Ea are probably not inside it; Ea wasn't possible to analyze. Creation of Excalibur is possible, but not a perfect version of it. It's also likely that using its energy blast would result in him using up all of his Prana, hence it would be a suicide attack for him, which is why he never traces it even just as a normal weapon; his personally developed close-combat technique with his twin swords is better suited for him and Shirou (although raw power might be less).
For Emiya Shirou, whose life had been saved by a sword and who actually merged together and lived with a sword, his body wouldn't be the type that would destroy itself from sword-making.
Rank: E-A++

Blood Fort Andromeda - Outer-Seal, Temple of Blood
Bounded barrier that melts the humans inside into blood that is
absorbed by the user. Normally meant for extracting Prana. Looks like a
gigantic red eye, although it can't be seen by those outside the
barrier. As using it once will severely damage the leylines of the
area, it can't be used continuously on the same land.
Rank: B
Type: Anti-battalion
Range: 10-40
Max AOE: 500 units
Invisible Air - Barrier of the Wind King
Not much more to add. Wait, I didn't add an entry for this?
Information from Fate Zero reveals that IA wind blast (in addition Prana Burst) can also be used to allow Saber to make supersonic dashes. This does NOT include Command Spell effect.
Rank: C
Type: Anti-personnel
Range: 1-2
AOE: 1 object
Zabaniya - Delusional Heartbeat
The arm of the spirit of malice, Shaytaan.
Neutralization of physical barriers and armor to strike at the
opponent's heart by using an ether clump to create a dual existence
that resonates with the original and crushing it to also crush the
target's real heart. Even if say, the opponent had armor with defensive
power of 1000, the arm would grab the heart over the armor and deal
damage directly. MGI (the ability to prevent the creation of the
overlaying existence) is necessary to resist against this instead of
amount of CON. Like the other Zabaniya, a convoluted and indirect way
of killing a person that's more like a trick a magician would use.
Rank: C
Type: Anti-personnel
Range: 3-9
Max AOE: 1 unit
Zabaniya - Cyber Fantasy
Turns the enemy's brain into gunpowder on contact with one hand.
General unique categories or uses.
Last Phantasm
The greatest of Noble Phantasms. Excalibur falls into this category.
Broken Phantasm
Not so much a Noble Phantasm itself, but the act of using a phantasm as
a disposable weapon. Only EMIYA can afford to do this. This type of
usage raises the attack value.
Artificial Phantasm
The title chapter where Archer's arm, a part of a spiritual body, is transplanted onto Shirou.
The practice of attaching two separate spiritual bodies is a forbidden art, not because of heresy, but because the patient always dies from shock after the surgery is completed. Resurrection/restoration of a spirit body/soul is not possible with thaumaturgy. Once the circuits in Archer's arm are activated, Shirou's body will be invaded (to be more accurate, blown apart) by it. His body will be unable to withstand the pressure of its power and will internally collapse. Using it just once is the equivalent of setting off a time bomb. Of course, even if he didn't use it, it would still eventually eat away at his body (ten years), even with Martin's burial cloth. As long as Shirou becomes a skilled enough magus though before then, he ought to be able to control it.
The actual form of this "invasion" is through swords (Archer's UBW invading Shirou's body is one way of thinking about it). Projection limit using Archer's arm is a max of 5-6 times before his body/soul will completely break down. Of course, he'll go "boom" anyway even if he doesn't use them all up. "Artificial Phantasm" could either refer to Archer's arm itself or traced Noble Phantasms.
Sha Nagba Imuru - The all-knowing, all-powerful star
Ko-gil's Noble Phantasm. In the hollow ataraxia card game though. Does it really exist? Does older Gilgamesh even have it?
Actually the name of Gilgamesh's legend (translated as: He Who Knows Everything).
A lot of people seem to be under the impression that Gilgamesh is a dope, but he's very knowledgeable and cunning, even as an adult; able to see through exactly what Shirou was trying to do prior to activating UBW (as to the number of traced weapons he was preparing; has fair enough knowledge of thaumaturgy), etc. Hence, this (card game) Noble Phantasm for taking a look at some of the cards in the opponent's hand and the stack....which is pretty useless actually, but hey.
礼装 - Reisou
The term for the equipment that the magus uses to support/augment his casting. A magus is normally going to have at least one. These are broken up into two broad categories. The first is one that acts as an amplifier to augment/supplement the caster's Prana or enhance his/her spells (Rin's gems for instance). The second are ones that use the caster's Prana as fuel to execute a predetermined mystery. A magus will have one of the former. The second type, while not having as many applications, is very powerful. The Noble Phantasms of Servants are generally of the latter type.
Azoth
A popular "graduation" present given to those pupils that have finished
their training as magi. Not the original Azoth itself, which was the
personal blade of the man who established the foundations of modern
alchemy. Amplifier type mystic code. The equivalent of the classical
wizard wand. Apparently, there are a number of different design
variants. The one used by Rin just happens to suit her style; fairly
powerful but no match for one of her powerful jewels.
Volumen Hydragram
Moon Spirit Cerebral Fluid. Kayneth's ultimate Mystic Code. By making
use of his double elements, Kayneth developed a style of combat
thaumaturgy of using Prana-charged mercury as a weapon by the "liquid
manipulation" spells ritual systems common to "wind" and "water"; the
Volumen Hydragram Mystic Code.
Via mastery of liquid manipulation, Kayneth is able to actively manipulate amorphous mercury into various combat configurations. Mercury, the heaviest of the liquid elements, generates incredible kinetic energy when driven at high-compression and speeds. The multiple and variable projectile and slicing attacks coming from the Volumen Hydragram have sharpness superior to even laser cutters at the level of ultra-high pressure water jets (able to cut from titanium steel to diamonds) in configurations such as whips, blades, or spears..
Further, several variations of an autonomoic defense system are available to it, replying instantly to threats and expanding around Kayneth; easily able to deal with claymore mines to mystical fire, water, lightning attacks via a thickness of less than 1mm (this is the same way how Kayneth survived). Other configurations include a search and detection mode as well as a sword mountain mode.
Normally kept in 4 cases and once poured out and given the proper command spells, Volumen Hydragram will flow from the floor, moving along Kayneth's feet. Made up of 10 liters.
Hydrogram = Hydragram?
Forte's sword
A "staff" with three open holes on the blade. Not meant for swinging
against other blades. The holes are meant to produce sound, causing
resonation when the sword is swung, sending an invisible shockwave at
the target. General idea is that this isn't meant for close range
combat, but long range done some hundreds of meters away from the
opponent.
Contender Custom
Kiritsugu's Mystic Code. A modified Thompson/Center Contender. While
Kiritsugu's other high-tech gear are armaments belonging to "Magus
Killer" Emiya Kiritsugu, this gun is representative of the magus, Emiya
Kiritsugu. A 14 inch long barrel with a grip and fore end made from
wallnut that evokes images of a sheathed short sword; the only
pistol-like parts being the trigger and firing hammer, while the
cylinder and slide doesn't seem to be anywhere in sight. The simple
exterior of the gun is close to that of percussion pistols from the end
of the middle ages.
Normally, Contenders are single-shot handguns, able to load only one bullet inside its break-open type chamber. Kiritsugu adjusted the gun to hunting-rifle specifications by replacing the barrel so that it can use large hunting rifle type bullets, and applied mystical treatment on the rifling and firing pin for the use of "mystic bullets".
Fires 30-06 Springfield bullets. Bottleneck rifle cartridge with size and power on a level far greater than pistol bullets. 30-06 Springfield bullets, which have 10% more power than large military rifle 308 Winchester bullets, boasts force far beyond that of even the so-called "handcannon class" Magnum. Over-excessive firepower for a hand gun.
True threat of the pistol doesn't lie with the physical destructive power put into force by explosives and bullets, but custom "mystic bullets" (only twelve remaining). Bone powder extracted from Kiritsugu's own body is sealed in the core of the bullet tip and when fired, charged with Kiritsugu's Prana, it will smash Kiritsugu's magus "origin" ("severing" and "binding") into the target. What can also be called an artificial conceptual weapon. Kiritsugu's one and ultimate weapon, used only as a last resort against those extremely powerful threats. Effect against magi is a critical and fatal overload of activated circuits; resulting in destroyed organs and a fried nervous system. In addition, provided that the bullets are defended against by thaumaturgy, the origin of the bullets will still make its way into the enemy magus' circuits.
Kiritsugu's favored gun on the battleground back in his peak (more than 19 years before Fate/stay night). Kept in the care of Hisau Maiya for 9 years and returned to him for the 4th Heaven's Feel.
Leysritt
A homunculus with the ability to actualize the Dress of Heaven. An
ether clump that is attuned to Ilya. Ilya's Mystic Code or rather...what becomes the Dress of Heaven.
Dress of Heaven
Materialization of the soul for several seconds. The heart that
controls the Greater Grail. A pure white dress that is made from gold.
Is fitted with 7 rings that are said to have control over creation/the
souls of others. The 7 holes on the dress are the transformed rings and
with each Servant soul absorbed, one hole is lit. As a person will be
turned to gold if in contact with it, operation must be conducted by
elementals/fairies, dwarves, or homunculus.
Barrel Replica
The Mystic Code Sion carries. A replica of the Black Barrel, one of the
"Seven Great Weapons" displayed in Atlas. A Conceptual Weapon of
"natural life" that puts outs a toxin (attack power) in proportion to
that life form's natural life span. Sion's Arc Drive uses this Barrel
Replica, but it seems that it's normal power hasn't been utilized.
Barrel Replica Obelisk, Sion's Last Arc, emits power laterally, but in
order to prevent herself from being blown off by the recoil, she
anchors her body with Etherlite.
Incapable of wiping out Tatari, but can impede it (hamper the program) by many, many, years.
Kaleidostick
Allows for the use of Prism Stance, a power in which the user is able
to download the skills of a parallel universe version of herself. Will
also supply a large amount of Prana. Will also brainwash the user once
a contract is made. Really doesn't like Zelretch at all.
Kaleidoscope/Zelretch/Jewel Sword
Allows for the brief opening of a hole to peek into a neighboring world "with different possibilities." On its own, it doesn't have the ability to amplify Prana at all or create it out of nowhere. Rin draws on energy through the hole using Zelretch and releases it. What's being released from the sword is just pure Prana. Interference with the neighboring world other than what was mentioned is not possible. Not as good as the original, which is said to have stopped the moon-crash. There is also a physical cost associated with continuing to use it like that. From each use, Rin's muscles were being cut (may have been the result of using her circuits to the max). Can be exploded, just like any other jewel.
Traced by Shirou using Archer's know-how and the memories/records existing inside of Ilya of Zelretch and his sword.
The one appearing here is a traced version based on seeing the original Zelretch and design schematics left behind by Zelretch as homework for the Tohsaka line. A little different from the original which is said to have stopped the "moon fall".
Said to only be able to be used by the inheritors of Schweinorg.
Rin can make another one of these over time, provided she has the money, which would imply that she won't need Shirou's help in making it.
Salamander glove
A glove made out of salamander skin. Used by Azaka to help her use her spells. An amplifier and limiter.
Touko's coat
Shuts off circuits of all forms of thaumaturgy. In other words, has
resistance to any form of thaumaturgy, be it runes or what not. Also
what saved Touko from being crushed by Araya's Shuku, but got torn to
shreds from just one hit of that.
概念武装 - Gainen busou
Weapons made so as not to be limited to just physical interference, but
also have effects that extend on to meaning/natural laws/space.
Along the lines of, for example, writing over "unaging" with the idea
of "natural life" (as in the time of allowed existence that is given to
a person by heaven) to nullify that condition. Soul smashers (Outbreaker) that defeat the target not by pure physical impact but by the strength of the concept, in other words, the soul.
Some of the other Noble Phantasms and Mystic Codes may or may not fit into this category, but so far, the only one that has been definitely called a Conceptual Weapon is Rho Aias. God Hand is supposed to work similar to the theory of Conceptual Weapons.
Types of Conceptual Weapons (usually crosses) used for purification, which is the forcing of natural laws onto the vampire and baptizing their flesh to turn them back into ash. Basically what's necessary for that ritual is a Key of Providence. Basically, opening the structure of the physical body and locking it back into its original form. Except, it'll only work on Catholics. If the target hadn't been a Catholic back when he was alive, crosses won't have that much effect. If the vampire is Christian but his victims aren't, the cross will have some degree of effect. It goes without saying then that if both vampire and victims are believers of the faith, its power is absolute.
Black Keys
Rapier-like throwing swords that can affect spiritual phenomena,
although damage will still be low on Servants and not sufficient enough
to take them out. The symbolic weapon of the Church, although due to
its awkwardness, there aren't many that prefer to use it. Considered to
fall into the sacrament category instead of thaumaturgy. The blades of
the Black Keys of those expert users or chosen Executors are
materialized by passing Prana through some other object (in the case of
Ciel, pages of the bible), but to be precise, it's not thaumaturgy but
a sacrament. When not being actively used, they can be carried or
concealed as hilts. Ciel has around 100 of these hilts concealed when
wearing her robe at the most. Further, the iron plate effect allows for
Black Keys to penetrate concrete walls.
Black Barrel
Conceptual Weapon representing "natural life". Forces the concept of
"natural life" on the undead to remove their immortality. Along the
lines of, for example, writing over "unaging" with the idea of "natural
life" (as in the time of allowed existence that is given to a person by
heaven) to nullify that condition.
Powerful Conceptual Weapons that have only been granted to a few select Executors.
The Seventh Scripture
A Conceptual Weapon using the horn of a unicorn, a soul-eating
creature, as a Key. Constructed some 1000 years ago after having the
soul of the unicorn assimilate the soul of a sacrificed little girl. It
didn't do any physical damage until Ciel modified it into a huge clunk
of metal that's some 60kg heavy. With optional parts, it could be
modified to two times that amount. Able to send Roa's soul back where
it belongs, although only really demonstrated in a bad ending. What's
being expelled from the magazines once the target is impaled isn't
ammunition but pages of the scripture. To vampires, it'd be the
equivalent of having the scripture fired into them.
Gamaliel
A Sanctioned Apocrypha. A pile-bunker like gun-shield. An anti-vampire
weapon representing "ruin". While those entities absorbed into Tatari
are reconstructed all as equal information, normally, those recreated
separately from Tatari are rare. This is probably due to the Apocrypha
acting as a protection in slowing down her digestion within Tatari.
Zelretch
See above.
Rho Aias
A shield that became known as a "Conceptual Armament" famed for having
absolute defensive power against projectile (thrown) weapons after the
Trojan War and elevated into a higher existence.
Archer's Red Cloak
A burial cloth with defensive attributes. Protects not against other
enemies but the outer world. Probably all burial cloths count as
Conceptual Armaments.
God Hand
A blessing of the gods in the form of a curse. Cancels out the concept
of an attack of B or below rather than damage in actual numbers. While
a Noble Phantasm of rank C may be the equivalent of a regular attack of
A, the God Hand still cancels out that attack as long as it does not
exceed rank B. Even if it is a Noble Phantasm that could destroy the world, if is not greater than rank B it will not damage Berserker. Probably something like along the lines of, "only the greatest of mysteries/weapons can harm him".
Book of the Stomach World
A book made out of El Nahat's stomach. Supposedly. Ignoring that, one of the trump cards of the Burial Agencies #1 or #2.
Knight Arms
The blanket term for the weapons of Ether Liners.
Liners born in the (Angel Notes) world will be effected by grain. An infant having a great amount of grain upon birth will develop the grain as if it were an extra bone in its body, and on maturity, will release it into the outer world with a definite form.
These weapons, formed from the as of yet have caused many phenomena, the effect to which they are on a level that is more than suitable enough for them to be called weapons.
Those humans who can form Knight Arms are few. Among those few, those who have Knight Arms powerful enough to be used in warfare are called Ether Liners. One Ether Knight is said to have one Knight Arm.
...Why does this sound sort of like what happened with "I am the bone of my sword" Shirou?
Knight Arm - Slash Emperor
The Knight Arm of the Ether Liner, Ado Edem. That which consumes the
stars. A simple Knight Arm which only increases the length of the blade
to match the size of the target. The sprouting, expansion, reinforcing
of the sword type Edem holds is done at the speed of his thoughts.
However, even if it could be said to a Knight Arm using an unimaginable amount of True Ether, to form such a tremendous amount requires a massive convertible energy source. The more Edem's Knight Arm increases, the more the earth itself is simultaneously chipped away at. The Knight Arm of Edem is no different from the ways of the old world wherein the land was turned into particles in order to gain resources. Can be said to be the embodiment of human nature in that it destroys our world to protect us.
Before the Knight Arm is formed, it stays in a seed state, and reacts
to Edem's awakening by striking into the earth, and then developing as
if it were growing thickly as grass would.
The blue aura like thing on the sword isn't the Grain being emitted
from the blade, but the sky ripped by the blade. The regal appearance
of the Slash Emperor, that which rips apart the "blood sky" of the
barren world to show a glimpse of the truth.
Slashed through Type Jupiter in one blow. Ado Edem was later imprisoned in the Witch Swift Umbrella, a disposal yard made in the Great Rift, due to the too incredible power of the weapon. Ado Edem would be introduced into the final stages of the war as a trump card and would destroy the so-called invulnerable Type Saturn. Following that, whether he survived is yet unknown.
Incidentally, Ado Edem didn't stand out in the war with the A-Rays. When the Aristotles arrived, he became a key figure.
On a side note, the glimpse of the "truth" mentioned by tearing through the sky is VERY similar to Gilgamesh's Ea.
Longinus
The Black Barrel. A weapon constructed from the the Fifth True
Theoretical Element, an element that causes the disintegration of the
Fifth Imaginary Element. Dug up in the sealed region Atlasia by a
vengeful Godo who participated in the Type Venus anti-drop operation.
Called by the Six Sisters, a Conceptual Weapon of Natural Life (Span). The bullet expelled by this gun will ignore all parameter values of those moving by True Ether (Grain) to deliver demonic damage. Like directly physically forcing a cancer cell in one's body.
One of the reasons why humanity had fallen is that they were unable to handle the Grain in the atmosphere, and as a result would die upon inhaling it. The moment they were rejected by this new energy, humans became the weakest of creatures, but the Black Barrel can be said to reverse this weakness.
Very high versatility and can be refitted with different options for possible use as a sniper rifle. Basic mode is a rifle-type having a curving buttstock. During the excavation, there had apparently been an original and a replica. The one Godo uses is the original.
Busshari
The bones of Shakamuni (or more like the remains; one of those things
that are worshiped depending on where you go). What was in Araya's arm
that made it (almost) immune to Shiki's mystic eyes. A line cut wasn't
enough to take it out. Hence, used as protection against Shiki.
The knife of the Nanaya
The treasured knife of the Nanaya clan. Kept by Makihisa instead of
being disposed of. While it's "treasured", there isn't any real value
to it. It's just simply tough. For a knife of that kind of age, it's
also mysteriously made for being used as a throwing knife.
An excellent item with the characters Nanatsu Yoru carved on the hilt and at a glance would be recognized as being a property of the Nanayas.
In the game, Kohaku gives it to Shiki saying it's a memento that Makihisa wanted to leave for Shiki, but really, Kohaku took it out from Makihisa's room without being told to.... Kohaku-san didn't look at what was inside the box also. She had probably been scheming that Shiki might remember some bits about his past since it was Nanaya property....?
Nameless - Dagger
The giant nail Rider uses. Thought to be representative of her inner
self. As with all Servant weapons, even non-Noble Phantasms, will have
an effect on spiritual phenomenon.
Nameless - Axeclub
The giant stone sword Berserker uses. Made by the Einzberns from the
stone foundation of his temple. Also the catalyst used to summon him.
As with all Servant weapons, even non-Noble Phantasms, will have an
effect on spiritual phenomenon.
Mystic-eye sealing contacts
Used by Rider. Disposable. Made using modified emerald by Rin.
Wait? Disposable?
Tawrich and Zarich - The Right Fang Grinder/The Left Fang Grinder
The weapons Avenger uses and the names of the Daevas in Persian
mythology. The designs, which resemble the fangs of a demon, are
similar to the throwing daggers that certain African tribes had used
(but that's not where these came from apparently). Ackward to use due
to the unusual gripping style and are not Noble Phantasms. Can be used
as sword breakers by Avenger. One entangles with the weapon of the
opponent while the other cuts him down. The markings are the same ones
as Avenger and they apparently become the claws of each dead Avenger
(Mukuro).
Halberd
Leylit's weapon. Yep. Long spear with an axe at the end.
Halberd type weapons can be used for thrusting, slashing, and for
striking, but performance is greatly inferior compared to lances,
swords, and axes respectively. Suited for pulling down the stance of
the opponent and then in primarily leading into a turn over. The main
deal is to creating a situation to pull off a finishing blow. Depending
on the shape of the blade, mounted enemies can also be dragged off.
Because of their wide applications, halberds are easy to handle
weapons.
However, the problem with this one in particular is that it's too heavy to be swung around by humans in melee combat. Better to fight with one's bare hands instead of using it. But, given that this is being used by an Einzbern homunculus, this isn't a prolem as they don't suffer from fatigue and have muscle power on the level of Servants. May seem like it was designed after the type of antique that'd decorate castles, but this one probably makes use of the latest of Einzbern technology as well as various thaumaturgical characteristics.
Emphasis is placed on toughness instead of sharpness. In other words, it's forged with the intention of sustaining damage to win. An attacking defensive item. Made of Rhenium, an even better type of metal than the tungsten steel used in tank armor plating. Far rarer and more valuable than tungsten and extremely heavy (density is 3 times that of iron or so).
Probably more than half of this was made up by Archer.
Monohoshizao
The long sword of the kengo, Sasaki Kojirou. The name, "Clothes Drying
Pole" is nothing more than a nickname for it. The true name of this
blade is unknown.
Going by records, it's length was some 90cm, but the one used in the game by Assassin is an extraordinary 150 cm. The space covered is close to that of a spear.
In actual combat, the length of the attack area alone is enough to provide it with an advantage. But, if one were to look at it from the point of being a katana, that length is more of a disadvantage.
In a one-on-one duel, the benefits provided by its length ought to be utilized sufficiently, but in battle, that length and weight will be what causes trouble to the one who holds it.
There is probably no other swordsman other than Assassin, whose sword style has leaped out of the region of mortals, that can fully handle this weapon.
Dirk
The short swords True Assassin uses. Made not for slashing, but for
throwing. After the fighting's over, True Assassin picks up the ones he
threw before he leaves. Yes, he does. As with all Servant weapons, even
non-Noble Phantasms, will have an effect on spiritual phenomenon.
Equipped with over 40 of these. Difficult to track with the eyes and to totally defend against due to their thinness. But against Heroic Spirits, these kinds of visually untrackable attacks aren't that menacing; what matters are attacks that can't be defended against even if they know how they work. Dirks, unfortunately, aren't so different from pebbles since they can be parried or swiped away. Although, a hit to a vital area will still be fatal.
Generally, the Church is interested in recovering and controlling objects relating to their religion.
The cup that holds the blood of God. One of the greatest of holy artifacts; a granter of its possessor's wishes. That derivation is called "a cup that grants wishes" found in many legends. The Fuyuki Holy Grail is in actuality the 726th one recorded; anything that can do the same thing as the legendary Holy Grail is considered to be a Holy Grail, even if it isn't the real thing.
Holy Grail (Fuyuki version, lesser)
The Lesser Grail in the Fuyuki grail wars. Normally made of gold or
bronze that uses the flesh of a magus, although this time its
Illyasviel von Einzbern's heart. An empty vessel that stores the
souls/power of defeated Servants to be used for the opening and
stabilizing of a hole in conjunction with the Greater Grail. The "gate"
boths Grails create ought to be considered the real Grail itself.
Unfortunately, contamination by Angra Mainyu will result in any wish
being made tainted with destruction and death; the grail twists the
wish in other words. Prepared for each ritual by the Einzbern, although
production has stopped after Heaven's Feel 5. Einzbern Grails, provided
there is a persona bestowed upon them, will give that same persona the
special thaumaturgy trait of wish granting; casting spells without the
direct knowledge of how to use them. Prana itself can be used
unprocessed to do that persona's wishes while operating under the
limitations of resources (how much prana there is) and time; magic of
course isn't possible.
Holy Grail (Fuyuki version, greater)
The Greater Grail in the Fuyuki grail wars. Enkan Kairo. Inner World,
Ten no Sakazuki. A massive circle located in the massive cavern beneath
Mount Enzou. Tens of layers of seals engraved on the floor of a
pot-like crater. In the center of it lies Justica von Einzbern, the
core/furnace of the circle. The circuits paved across the surface of
the crater are her own enlarged and expanded circuits. Those circuits,
with a diameter of one kilometer, are like a miniature universe
composed from one body. What manages the Servant system and is
responsible for appointing Masters.
Black Holy Grail
Heaven's Fall
A substance composed of the 3rd substance and keeps Servants pinned down in this world. A black portal that is inside the Greater Holy Grail. A Heroic Spirit that matured into a wish-granting demon thanks to the power of the Holy Grail. It's power is weak, but it does what it can to grant the wishes of its master. Like other Servants, it requires a mortal Master (someone living in the present) to hold it down into this plane of existence.
Cloth that is wrapped around a saint. For obvious reasons, generally going to be one of the type of items that the Church would leans towards.
Martin's burial cloth
Used by Shirou. Suppresses and shuts off Prana from exiting (probably entering as well) from the confines of it.
Magdalene's burial cloth
Unbreakable by men and is suited for restrainment (also note that this
burial cloth seems to not just work by physical gender but gender
according to the soul). Note that it will halt extremely, extremely,
strong targets (such as Berserker), but it's only a matter of time
before they break free of it. Further, Magadelene is only meant to
"restrain" and as such, damage from restrainment will not be taken.
Further, if the "restrained" is attacked from the outside, the effects
of the burial cloth will be nullified.
Archer's cloak
Made from a type of burial cloth. Described as being made from a
1st-rate conceptual weapon that's not meant to protect against outer
enemies, but the outer world.
An Examination on Magery in the New Century
Author: Velvet, Waver.
Result of 3 years of planning and one year of writing. An easy to
understand and articulate discourse delving in the essence the nature
of deeper understanding of thaumaturgy and better utilization of Prana
to overcome the difference of generations. Should have been a book that
could have changed the current situation of the Association when
reviewed by the examination committee.
BUT, happened to be torn to shreds by a lecturer in the school of Euryphis after just speeding through it once.
Spirit board
An enchanted item used by the manager of the Heaven's Feel that
displays the traits of the summoned Heroic Spirits. With this, the
Church representive is able to determine where the summoning takes
place (no matter where) and the class of the Servant.
The Book of the False Attendant
What Shinji used to control Rider. Made from one of Sakura's Command
Spells using the Inchuu. Gives Shinji a provisional Command Spell which
earned him the right to control Rider. Sakura ended up making this two
times for Shinji.
As it's only a fake Command Spell, it can't match the real ones. If it
pushes its limits too much or if the Servant is destroyed, the book
will burn.
