Prana

I got sick of using the word magic energy or just using the word magic overall for anything other than magic. And mana? __For god's sake, that word's strictly for the environmental energy__, not for personal/biological life force.

So I did what any reasonable person would do and used a sanskrit word (Prana) because everyone knows that the world revolves around sanskrit! ....which scarily enough seems to fit all too perfectly with certain elements in Kinoko's world setting.

Not like anybody's going to use that word for maryoku but hey.

Arturia - Arthuria - Artoria

I don't really see any evidence that it could fall under one of these spellings. Artoria seems to be the most probable. But that's really irrelevant since people didn't call her by that name anyway. She became and was called King Arthur, simple as that.

The big list to counter what everybody says is true but really isn't

1. Yes, Saber is King Arthur. Yes, King Arthur was really a girl.
2. Excalibur is not super Caliburn. They are two completely different swords.
3. Shirou does not have tracing AND imaging. He has only one and which one really depends on the translation you're following in.
4. Yes, Berserker can talk.
5. That's Archer using Rho Aias in the end of UBW, not Shirou. And yes, that's the same Archer from UBW.
6. Rin and Sakura never met Touko in UBW.
7. It's not Angra Mainyu's hate that polluted the grail. It's his soul or more like....bah, pain in the ass to explain. See Abe-san article for details.
8. Avenger is just for Angra Mainyu.
9. Heroic Spirits are only used in and can only take on their original forms in the Fuyuki grail wars.
10. Berserker has 12 total lives, not 13. Then again Kinoko isn't known for consistency, but then again who cares? It's the dramatic effect that matters.
11. There are grail wars going on in every single era. The Fuyuki ones aren't the only recognized grail wars.
12. Most people are really dead in hollow ataraxia.
13. The eclipse episode in hollow ataraxia is supposed to be a parody, not something that actually happened.
14. Bellerophon isn't the name of the horse. It's the name of the saddle/bridle set.
15. Zelretch isn't a mini-Excalibur.
16. Nobody knew the grail was polluted except for Kotomine, Zouken, Gilgamesh, and Kiritsugu (prior to the game)
17. Assassin has no Noble Phantasm.
18. It's spelled ataraxia not atraxia.
19. Arthur made a pact with the "world", not the grail.
20. Just because Aoko's good only at destruction doesn't mean the 4th magic is the magic of ultimate destruction.
21. No, that isn't a girl standing by Saber's body in the end of the Fate route.
22. No, a Reality Marble isn't really another dimension.
23. No, most people didn't know nor even found out that King Arthur was really a girl.
24. No, Archer does not "gain experience".
25. No, the hollow ataraxia Caren isn't the real Caren.
26. No, the Shikis aren't even close to being the strongest peeople in the world.
27. No, Archer isn't even close to being the strongest Servant.
28. No, Archer-ko isn't canon.
29. No, there is no Saber good end nor should there ever be one.
30. No, Shirou and Kotomine don't really hate each other. They actually like each other.
31. No, our hero's given name isn't Emiya, it's Shirou.
32. There's Zelretch the magic-user, Zelretch the sword, and Zelretch the imitation sword. The first two can do way more than the last one.
33. No, the 3rd magic isn't "just" resurrection. Hell, you could bring back a dead person using 3 of the other fields of magic.
34. No, gods can't be summoned. If a god could be summoned, why would anybody want a grail?
35. No, Kuzuki just isn't a normal martial artist, he's an assassin that was trained to do just do one technique for 20 years. 1) His body is being reinforced by Caster's powers. 2) His style is so unusual and fast that most people will be taken off-guard and killed in the first encounter (of course, Servants are a different story since they're pretty much the best humanity has ever produced). The surprise advantage in the following encounters would be gone since the opponent would have an understanding of how his technique works. A disposable killer, I suppose. Of course, the anime turned his "Snake" into just a fast punch, arararara.

36. No, Breaker Gorgon does not = Rider's eyes. Breaker Gorgon = blindfolds.
37. No, Archer's RM doesn't allow him to keep his "memories". All heroes get "books", not just Archer. There's a difference between "memories" and "records". Or in a sense, a very, very, different form of implicit memory. The facts might be there, but the base-soul can't process it as actual experience, gained knowledge or what-not, going by the Rakkyo interpretation. An eirei is a finished and perfected "image" with no improvement after it becomes one.
38. As said in the game, Shiki can't see lines on things that can't be killed (destroyed) in the modern world. This is because the basis of the eyes of Shiki, a human being, work in proportion to the limits of modern humanity. Which means, Servants = unkillable by modern weapons (yes, Kinoko said that himself) = either no lines seen in normal cases (unless he pushes himself or reaches the point of being accustomed to the death of anything - still have the form of living beings so shouldn't take that much time if any) or number and thickness are less and not so easy to affect. Servants = materialized spiritual bodies = concepts about a thousand years or older = not so easy to kill; slashing one line doesn't ensure immediate effect. An easily breakable image that's been developed from human ideals images for some 2000 or more years probably would cause some penalties. Dots, as always, are insta-death - I'm not saying that Shiki can't kill them, I'm saying that just slashing a non-head line may not mean much during actual combat, especially those with the Battle Continuation skill. Best bet would try to look for openings for a dot strike while buying time (a stronger better version of Harpe with penalties). Noble Phantasms at the very least should be as formidable as Araya's Busshari.
39. You know that black dress Sakura is wearing at the end of HF? That's really just maryoku. And no, that isn't a big pile of magic circuits or cloth. She's really walking around naked.
40. Lesse, haven't watched the episode yet, but there's probably going to be some misunderstanding about this. To put majutsu kokuin (seal) on a person that isn't related to you, you have to physically alter them. Which means ow and sealing worms. Which equals purple hair.
41. Servants = reitai = spiritual bodies EVEN when materialized. Which means no weapons other than mysteries (conceptual weapons are included) or majutsu/mahou can harm them. Modern weapons are incapable of doing this yet. Contaminated Servants can be harmed by physical weapons, but defense and regeneration are raised significantly. Even from what ought to be a fatal wound can be recovered in just some 10 minutes.
42. Mana/circuit corrosion? Huh? Go play the HF route again, boke. That doesn't exist.
43. Y'know, if Zelretch didn't get his blood sucked, there's a good chance that he would have become an eirei. People seem to forget that eirei = heroes = people who somehow just managed to defy the odds and beat monsters that are many times more powerful than them. And of course, the ones who do remain in the legends are the ones who actually lived, as opposed to the countless others who got their asses whooped. The greatest weapons that humanity managed to produce in all of history, you see.
44. For some reason this has been going on a lot, but the person that became Angra Mainyu wasn't "mistakenly" sacrificed because people thought he was a demon. It was a calculated action on the part of the people in power. Anybody else would have worked. The point was to prove the "goodness" of humanity and just put the blame of everything on one person.
45. I shouldn't be the one saying this since I seemed to have overlooked the bara kanji, but the name of the highschool isn't Fuyuki High (tteiuka, putting a High in the name of the school is one of the big taboos in ero games). It's Homurabara Gakuen.
46. Mana, mana, mana, mana. Why do people say mana? There's a distinction between the two kinds of maryoku - od and mana. All mana is maryoku but not all maryoku is mana.
47. Arc does not have a Reality Marble. She has a Marble Phantasm.
48. Karen Ortensia -> Caren Hortensia. Says ataraxia image.
49. Bazette -> Bazett. Says merchandise.
50. 犯人はヤス。
51. Saber's physical age is not 18. Physically, she's one year younger than Shirou.
52. "Eeeeeh, this stuff isn't in the anime!" Why the hell would it be. It's in the game/reference material/novels.
53. Rider's eyes aren't named Qubeley. Why would her eyes be named after a Mobile Suit? The name is derived from the earth goddess (well at least going by our version of legends), Cybele/Kybele.
54. Oni aren't "demons". There's a distinction between demons and the stuff that the Tohno family has in their blood.
55. I wouldn't have put a DDD section here if it wasn't written by Kinoko.
56. The body turning into swords thing isn't strictly HF. After Shirou got his shoulder sliced by Gilgamesh and he got up, there was a strange creaking sound, probably because his UBW had reacted. The same imagery of a body of swords also popped up in the same game scene after Gilgamesh retreated.
57. Gilgamesh has most proto Noble Phantasms because back when the world had been united, he collected all of them. Not that complicated to understand. He has them because he had them when he was alive. Or to make it simpler to understand, Gilgamesh picked up a weapon named Merodach. After he died and the world was broken up, it got passed onto other countries and handed down as a Noble Phantasm. Eventually it served as the basis of Gram and following that Caliburn. Simple as that.
58. The main body of the Heroic Spirit isn't located in the Greater Holy Grail - it's located in the Throne of Heroes. The Grail system only makes use of an already existing system.
59. The Taima aren't used against those with mixed blood; they're used against the real thing - full monsters. The Nanayas of the Taima on the other hand are sent out to deal with those beings that still have a human nature to them; as a result they're not equipped to handle the truly inhuman. In other words, real monsters are generally going to be stronger.
60. Only a few people knew King Arthur was really female. Yes, that's right. Only a few. This is what the game says and the anime might have misrepresented that by having what should have been ideological narrative turned into an actual spoken sentence. Some people did have their doubts, but nobody really knew and even if they found out the truth, it didn't matter.
61. Yes, there is a separate Guinevere and it is mentioned that Mordred is her son. See day 14 in the Fate route for reference.
62. And speaking of which Guinevere (which turned out to actually be Morgan with the patch) is Saber's sister and Mordred turns out to really be Arthur's son (but she doesn't know that) probably by some mystical means. .....Is what I thought, but apparently, the bit about it being Morgan was false. Yes, Guinevere is Arthur's younger sister and Mordred was her child.
63. Some people seem to think that Shirou is 16. Well gee. The Japanese school year begins in April and ends in March. Which means it's more likely that he's going to be 17, though there is a chance he could still be just 16.
64. For some reason people are saying that Saber went to Avalon. wtfcakes. That whole Avalon explanation said by Gil was originally just an explanation in the narration to help tell the normal Japanese person who doesn't know what Avalon, the name, is supposed to represent. There's a difference between dramatic explanation and whatever. She's dead, gentlemen, the end. There is no paradise, there is no lovely afterlife. Dead people don't think, don't brush their teeth, don't arm wrestle, whatever. There's only big old Throne of Heroes and that's it. If anything, the only thing that'd probably be in Avalon, if there is one other than the sheath, would be fairies. Only people that don't have the ability to read between the lines and watched only the anime have made the conclusion that she's just sleeping in Avalon.
65. The real problem with the anime isn't the fact it followed the Saber route; it's the fact that their representation of the game just didn't have energy/vitality/power in it. This is what most people complained about, the people that honestly were upset with the anime. Not really bad, but expressive power was cold and lacking, kindoflikeacertainhigurashinonakukoroni, not to mention that the attempt of working with an original storyline didn't mesh logically with the rest of the canon game plot. And also the fact that Shirou's VA sucked, then again Shirou is supposed to be like a machine anyway, so that might have really fit him right.
66. Soul transferring is relatively rare. Touko -> making exact copies of herself instead of transferring her soul. Araya -> actually transferring and screwing around with; more or less an expert since he specialized in the soul specifically. Roa -> actually reincarnating. Ilya -> materializing soul for several seconds then transferring it. Possible problem is that even if the soul being transferred is the same, the risk is that the resulting product is going to usually be inferior and different if the vessel is different.
67. Musashi Gun-Dou >>>>>>>>> Haruhi.
68. 10 years reign as a king. Which would put Saber at age 25. With a pseudo-son that's old enough to pose as a knight. Wait, what?
69. Regarding 62...apparently, the bit about it being Morgan was false. Yes, Guinevere is Arthur's younger sister and Mordred was her child.
70. Is what I thought...but apparently that was another series of long mistakes. Jebus christ.
71. The dragon/circuit transfer scene was all Nasu. Yes.
72. Bird's eye view of the universe vs. first person perspective. As in, get the damn point all ready.
73. Od but not Odo. Yes, if one just goes by the kana, it could be transliterated as Odo, but most Japanese sources on the matter refer to a Karl von Reichenbach who described something called "Odic Force", AKA, Od. Note that this is typical of transliteration from foreign languages to Japanese. It's not like anybody's going to bother to go to the trouble to try to render a pronounication for the "duh" sound with kana. Not like anybody in any country ever uses the original pronunciation anyway. Hell, O-do itself already sort of handles that and could be audibly construed into an O-duh. Sort of. sort of. sortof.

1. For some reason people are saying the Fate route is the worst route in the game. Gee, I wonder how many of those people actually played and understood the game? And my favorite route is HF, mind you.

Etc

1. Sumire's Marble Phantasm apparently seems to work more like ESP (under the Kinoko conception of it - having access to a channel that's different from the normal perceptual channels).
2. There might have been an orbital elevator constructed by Archer's time.
3. Saber's normal clothing is actually clothing that Kotomine sent over to Rin.
4. Ryougi Shiki actually hates Touko and likes Azaka.
5. Nrvnqsr vs Neko-arc: "To-to think that there would be a species as rare as this....!
Wait, stop, gaargh, I must get my hands on at least its footprints...!" Professor...
6. Evidently the roots of the Tohno family might be linked to the Oni-woman Momiji, a child born to a couple that had trouble in receiving a child through prayer to the Demon King of the Sixth Realm. Momiji (crimson leaf as opposed to Akiha's fall leaf) is not an ancestor of the Tohno family, but there does seem to be a possible connection to her legend and the history of the Tohno.
7. Saber's maximum speed + command spell boost is Mach 13.2. Archer's arrows should be just as fast, Rin can move 100 meters in 7 seconds using reinforcement. Kotomine (when running in a forest carrying Ilya) can do 50km/h. Shirou, with Archer's arm, can run similar speeds. Lancer's hurled Gae Bolg is around Mach 2, at 40 kilo distance, Pegasus moves at 400~500km/h, and Bazett's right straight is 80km/h. Kuzuki threw Saber, 40kg, at a speed of 200km/h. Araya, fast enough to dodge a bullet after it's been shot. Ryougi Shiki 3rd personality, faster than said bullet.
8. Apparently it's possible for a human being to become a god, b but only when still alive [/b]. Merem's case is fairly similar to Angra Mainyu's, the only difference is that Merem was saved before that would have happened and also that Merem really did have power.
9. Saber vs Arcueid if both are at full power = pretty even match according to Kinoko apparently. Basically, for all those people giving Arcueid EX or S stats - good chance of all of that being bullshit. The closest thing to Saber at full strength would be Rin's Saber + Avalon. Speaking of which, no real confirmation on this yet.
10.
Opened up a forum while making the above expression.
11. --Executioner-- -> Executor/Executer. Probably not somebody that executes people. The kana's ekusukyuutaa. I guess it could be used in context of a person that acts as a representative of the Church. I guess?
