Actualization, instantiation, realization, materialization

具現化 - Gugenka

The grounding of something intangible into something definite, often physical result. IE, realization of a dream. Used with Reality Marbles, Marble Phantasms, Demons, Spirits.

Of course there seems to be some different nuances to each English term and Japanese terms (具現化、物質化、実体化). And that doesn't include context.

Instantiation Principle - the thing must exist in order to exist to even be thought of; computer terminology-wise: "Instantiation is the act of creating the empty object. Materialization is the act of filling it with information from the provider." according to random googling.

Alien common sense of demons

悪魔の持つ異界常識 - Akuma no motsu joushiki

Reality Marbles. It's not so much the fact that Reality Marbles are natural abilities of demons, but the idea that Reality Marbles THEMSELVES are the natural perception of demons, that is their "common sense".

Oftentimes, the "common sense" idea ties in with themes in Light Novels, such as ESP. The reality (common sense) that you have is able to interfere in the reality (common sense) of others.

Anti-xxx

Classifications on best suited targets and magnitude/cost of weapon.
Broken down by:

Anti-personnel

対人 - Taijin
Best suited against single or few targets.
(Stabbing) Gae Bolg.
Zabaniya.
Invisible Air.
Breaker Gorgon.
Rule Breaker.
Gate of Babylon (actual usage seems more similar to anti-battalion type).
Tsubame Gaeshi.

Anti-battalion

対軍 - Taigun
Best suited against armies/formations.
Bellerophon.
(Hurled) Gae Bolg.
Blood Fort Andromeda.

Anti-fortress

対域 - Taijou
Best suited against fortress. Examples - knocking down a few skyscrapers with an energy blast.
Excalibur.
Einnashe is somewhere along a fortress level threat - physical combat style of Ciel is gifted but not enough to deal with said situation.

Anti-world

対界 - Taikai
Best suited for use against worlds.
Ea.

Breathing

呼吸 - Kokyuu

Duh, of course this would have a large effect on physical fitness.

BUT. It also plays a role in the strength of nature interference. Not that important for those western practitioners (people in the Association), but among the teachings in the east, the art of breathing and walking are said to be high level techniques that can't be imitated by learning them.

Image-wise, it'd be the taking in of outer energy, or breath of life, in order to link the inner world (yourself) with the outer world. The processes of sucking, vomitting, and what not are part of those processes used to take in or release the gods. If you want to know more about that, go read a book.

The "proper ways of breathing" are secret techniques among each school. As long as there's one person in a generation that could learn this, then that's good enough, apparently.

Those who use incantations to cast spells are only magi. However, those whose very breathing, movements, bones, very existence are fit for taking in the will of god, then these are pure circuits that surpass magi.

Some of this can be found in Shindo; those who can repel unnatural forces just by clapping or so. But this type of skill takes an entire lifetime to learn.

On occasion, however, there are those who were born with the proper way of breathing and walking. As a result, their body acts as one natural circuit. Often times, these are treated as holy children or prodigies when young and generally get picked up by those of the arcane way in the end. There's also those who manage to mature without being noticed for what they are. Those humans can use mysteries greater than magi, without knowing anything of thaumaturgy.

Kuzuki follows this somewhat, but he doesn't have that much ability in it since it was built up from rigid and harsh training rather than inborn ability. Basically, he just walks and breathes the right way, but has absolutely no talent for magery.

Eh well. This could possibly be an explanation for Ciel, the original Roa, Merem, and God Word, possibly.

Concept

概念 - Gainen

The soul. The driving word in Kinoko works. Concepts, rules, and beliefs are what drive and even shape the universe.

Counter Force

抑止力 - Yokushiryoku

The safety systems created by a group unconscious will. Phenomena that exist to erase other phenomenona. "Reorienters of direction". Control force.

Broken up in two by:
Alaya, the prayer for the avoidance of destruction wished by man.
Gaia, the prayer for the continuation of life willed by the planet.

Both have the objective of insuring the continuation of the current world. They will appear the moment that a factor that may cause the destruction of the world occurs and will move to destroy that factor. As they are unconscious forces, even when they does appear, nobody will see them, nobody will notice them.

A Counter Force is a whirl of formless power that will appear and adjust their magnitude in accordance to the target to be destroyed.
To allow for absolute victory, it will appear with greater force than the target. In the situation where the threat is unable to be handled through human hands, the Counter Force will take the form of a natural phenomenon and wipe out the designated target and its surroundings; like a certain lost continent. Based on Touko's statement, this natural destruction might be caused by the human Counter Force rather than the Counter Force of the world, is what I thought but it could really go either way. The results basically one big force that's moving around that could just as well be divided into two.

If the world dies, then so does humanity. If humanity dies, it'll likely be something that'll affect the fate of the world. The results may converge but there's a difference in the factors involved at work.

Of course, since it's just formless power, it can't just appear out of nowhere and curse somebody to death. It usually has to act through agents. Most often, a "normal person" will be pushed by the Counter Forces into wiping out that factor of destruction. These generally are the rare sort of "receptors" among humans that can function as a medium for the Counter Force to live in. In these cases, the person may suddenly change in personality, as if possessed by some other force. The person will be given enough power to eliminate the target, but nothing more. The result: that person will be treated like a hero. The human that becomes a hero by the Counter Force will be incorporated in Alaya after death. It's an even deal. In return for fame and glory, that hero has to perform servitude for the power that invested in him. This would be the pact that a person makes with the world.

In the modern era, these people aren't called heroes since with the developments of civilization, the actions of destroying and saving the world have become too easy and too frequent; for example, there are corporations deforesting the Amazon to the extent that the world will end a year later. The Counter Force is always at work and hence, saves the world in a blink of an eye without anyone caring or noticing. There's only one hero per generation. Just saving the world won't be enough to be called a hero. The right to be called a hero, a being that has surpassed hhuman beings, is not by numbers, but by doing the impossible, the alteration of destiny. Even if the person himself didn't have the power of a hero, if a disaster that couldn't be averted through any means possible was averted, that person will be recorded as a Heroic Spirit.

The problem is the "Counter" part to it. It won't act on its own and only is executed in response to an already occurred phenomenon. There are also other limitations. Alaya cannot react freely to destruction caused by forces from nature such as the True Ancestors. While the True Ancestors are adversaries of humanity, they are first and foremost recognized as being harmonizers and spirits of nature. Alaya seems to be more of a sub-system of the world presiding over humans specifically instead of an all-together separate system. It will react to cases where a magus is trying to touch Akasha and has mercilessly killed them time and time again.

Alaya acts as the guardian of humanity, but is emotionless. It has stepped in the way of actions that would have brought happiness to 10,000 people on occasions. Basically, it has become the representative will of humanity because of its power, for better or worse, and is the most greatest force among us primates.

Destruction coming by nature/external threats are resolved not by the Counter Force of humanity but by the Counter Force of the world.

Other elements of the Counter Forces:
Guardians - The Guardians of Alaya, aka, Counter Guardians. Heroes with little reverence or no divinity. Reacts primarily to "correct" disturbances caused by humans.
Beast of Alaya - ? Probably another term for the above.
True Ancestors - A Counter Force of the planet with a form.
Beast of Gaia - Primate Murder, a big dog that has the ultimate priviledge of killings primates. Takes some 7 Guardians to control.

Defender of Justice, Ally of Justice, Hero

正義の味方 - Seigi no Mikata

What Kiritsugu tried to be, what Shirou is striving to be. Of course, "justice" is what the strong make it out to be. The weak are often the ones on the receiving end of things. This is what Archer eventually learned and had to reinforce. Angra Mainyu on the other hand, pretty much forgived any kind of result. It's ok for anybody to do whatever they want.

Denial of Nothingness

無の否定 - Mu no Hitei

"Nothing" doesn't exist. What exists must always exist.
Existence is, and non-existence cannot be.
Generation and change is only superficial based on sensual perception and behind it, there is only one truth behind the phenomenon we see.

The true existence is permanent, ungenerated, indestructible, and unchanging.

The contrary concept to it is as long as there's a void, the world can continue to move across it, which is the fundamental rule to the looped world in hollow ataraxia.

Destiny

運命 - Unmei

Changing one's own destiny by onself is difficult according to Archer. The best that could be mananged is postponing a disaster. If definite change is desired, it's best to seek the intervention of others.
The story that Archer told Shirou about the bridge (a Kimon for Shirou) probably may have been a roundabout way of warning him about his future fate (execution) that since the person that would fill the category of "other" is the one bringing the disaster himself, there would be no escape. According to Tsukihime Lab anyway.

Divine Construct

神造 - Shinzou

Built according to the desires of man, but born without being influenced by the will of man.
Used in reference to Excalibur and Enkidu.

Elements

元素 - Genso

The elements that make up the universe.

ESP

超能力 - Chounouryoku

Extrasensory perception, abnormal powers. Normally, those functions that aren't involved in the operation of the organism we call humans. Those circuits that cause "supernatural phenomena" to occur. Unlike thaumaturgy, inherrent ability is absolutely necessary. Those who have these abnormal lines can cause supernatural phenomenon to happen as if they were breathing in. To the person who does this, doing this is normal, so they start realizing the abnormality of themselves for the first time when others (in other words, common sense) point this out to them.

Normally ESP occurrence is a random and sudden aberration that lasts only one generation.

Ether

エーテル - Eeteru

Aether. The Greek version of Akasha. The heavens. The 5th element. Or the 6th element. Or many other elements. Either that, or a substance. One of the primordial gods (which includes Gaia and Chaos).

Fairy letters

妖精文字 - Youseiji

The letters used by fairies. Written on Excalibur and Avalon. One of the lost languages and also the sign of items belonging to those of the otherworldly.

God

神 - Kami

(General rendition/imagery of God - probably matches with the Church version - in DDD)

If God's a phenomenon that's perfect and flawless while omniscient and omnipotent, demons are phenomena that are absurd and nontangible while human and incompetent.

Back in the old days, demons used to be thought of as messengers of God, but God and demons are completely different; how people are suffering under demons isn't being heard by him.

Since demons are incompetent, they hang around humans, but God doesn't care about humans. Doesn't care about faith and no interest in how humans have fun or suffer; since of course, he just needs himself. That's what it means to be omniscient and omnipotent.

So the only thing he has ever had to say to us is "Bug off, don't bother me."

Which would be the general gist of what Kinoko wanted to say in DDD.

Incarnation

受肉 - Juniku

The receiving of flesh. To have an actual physical incarnation on the world. What's needed to affect the non-spiritual world.

Interference

干渉 - Kanshou

Used in context with the various abilities in Type-Moon. Of these, there are:

Nature Interference - Interfering in nature to cause a specific phenomenon to occur. Abilities of magi, espers, monsters, taimashi/houjutsushi, and half-bloods are based on this. Further, Atlas alchemists due to their low number of circuits cannot use Nature Interference type spells.

World Interference - Abilities based on interfering in probability, the laws that control phenomena. Marble Phantasms.

Physical Interference - Generally applies to ghosts; specifically Servants. Of course, it's also the whole general idea of any physical contact; punches, meteorites, etc. Normally, direct physical intereference on the part of ghosts are low. A spiritual body would usually have to act through some sort of medium in order to conduct interference.

Destiny Interference - Twisting destiny. Gae Bolg and other Celtic weapons.

Kimon

鬼門 - Kimon

Literally, an ogre's gate. The north east. In Onmyoudou, the direction from which an oni enters and leaves and basically a cursed direction for all things. Unlike the Houi-jin, a Kimon is always in the northeast.

In Onmyoudou, the north and the west are On (yin), while the east and south are You (yang). As the north east and the south west are borderlines in Onmyou, it's been said that they're unstable.

Outside of physical direction, a kimon refers to semi-metaphysical direction in the sense of destiny; entering or being involved in something (the kimon) that will lead to future troubles.

Incidentally, a Kimon is also a direction through which the gods pass and which the sun is born from (the gate of life), so it's a good idea to keep the energy in the area clean.

Kurenai Seki Shu

紅赤朱 - Kurenai Seki Shu
The title when one with the blood of the nonhumans draws on their sleeping blood within themselves to the max.
Among those clans ruled over by the Tohno house, this is called Kurenai Seki Shu, however, among other clans, this is called "Senzo gaeri" (ancestrial return). Tohno Akiha and Kouma Kishima show just one part of this during their Arc Drives, but at the current stage
the one closest to Kurenai Seki Shu status is Kouma, but in the first place, the one who has the better quality for this is Akiha.

Materialization

実体化 - Jittaika

The temporary transformation of a spiritual body into a physical body.

Ma/Daemons

魔 - Ma

Mara, Qlippoth, Pandemonium, Disruptions. An unneeded force in the disruption of the currents of nature, yet exists under those laws. Being a part of nature, they can warp (interference) the outer world by that connection to nature. Different species and types fall under this designation, but to those under the proper current, disruptions are perceived as evil.

Len has already reached the point of being a disruption, but she was originally a familiar - which would probably mean that not all thaumaturgical related stuff is necessarily mara-ish.

The designated targets of the Church (only the ones that deal with their religion) and other organizations such as the Taima.

Meaning

意味 - Imi

The worth of a person's existence, rather than the evaluation received from others. Everything has a meaning attached to it, even the worthless. Even if valued by no one else, there is a point to the accumulated history of mankind and its connection with the ongoing present. Basically, it's not a sin to to exist. An important theme to Heaven's Feel and hollow ataraxia.

Memory

記憶 - Kioku

A four-step process consisting of writing, saving, replaying, and recognition. Memory disorder occurs if any one of these functions is damaged.

Meshitsukai

メシ使い - Meshitsukai

Emiya Shirou's respective position to Saber in hollow ataraxia, according to Gil. Normally, would mean servant. But going by the pronunciation Gil used, it's more along the lines of food server.

He's right too.

Moon Fall

月落とし - Tsukiotoshi

Once upon a time, apparently the Crimson Moon caused the moon to fall. The one who prevented that was Zelretch.

Observer

観測者 - Kansokusha

One who observes.
Kinokish metaphysical idea that long-winded magi or celestial bodies like to talk about.

Conceptually, the idea is used as follows:

1. An object is first given meaning by there being observers. But even if the observers themselves are unchanging, the given meaning is changed by the condition of the subject itself.

2. The remains of a person after death still remain because the record, the memories of that person still remain, or what not. Not just by the people but by the world itself, one can say. The leftover remains of the spirits, aka specters.

3. If eternity is established by the presence of observers, then what better way is there to achieve eternity than by becoming the observer oneself? ...Would be the rationalization that Roa had. Should his hosts, humanity go extinct, the the object of observation would cease to exist and his eternity would end.

4. The best observer for restoring the world to its true state as a planet (or rather, a "star") is another heavenly body; the moon.

5. The observer can only exist if there is something to observe.

Original

本物 - Honmono

Generally, the magus conception of original is anything that performs the same exact function as the "real" or rather original. The emphasis is not on whether or not the object conforms to fact, but whether it does the same thing or not, such as the designations given anything that can do the same thing as the Holy Grail. The Church and even demons, on the other hand, are concerned with the "truth" as it relates to their own system of beliefs; their interest afterall is in protecting their faith and to forcefully deny those things that may contradict it.

Outer/inner

Some tendencies to focus on two different orientations; inner and outer, e.g.
Outer world/inner world - The world outside of the real one vs. the real one or vice versa depending on the situation. Can be seen when describing separation of a certain area from the rest of the world via barriers - this is where the closed-off area can become radically different to the point where it might as well be another world.

Outer air/inner air - Mana vs. Od

Outside/inside - Areas beyond the reaches of the physical plane vs. the relative physical plane; stuff that lies outside of the cycle of transmigration vs. stuff that is inside that cycle. Magi, for example, are generally trying to move outside; the Church is trying to preserve the order inside.

Phantasm

幻想 - Gensou

Fantastic, imaginary. Something based more on illusion and images than something that is actually present in our world. See Marble Phantasm, Noble Phantasms, Phantasm races, and Scathach.

Phenomenon

現象 - Genshou

A naturally-occurring, perceivable event. The only way to "destroy" a phenomenon is if you end the reason for its occurrence.

Planet Terminal

星の端末 - Hoshi no Tanmatsu

? Apparently related to the realization of the wishes of others and communication with animals.

Program No. 6

第六法 - Dai Roku Hou

Program No. 6. (Six Sisters are described as No.1 saving system to earth) Unknown. To be a little more specific, a mystery. A system that Zepia Eltnam Oberon attempted to challenge but failed miserably.

Record

記録 - Kiroku

The memory of the world instead of the individual.

Star

星 - Hoshi

Exactly what the word says. The problem is that the Japanese concept of star can, and oftentime does in fantasy, includes any sort of heavenly body, like planets, moons, etc.

The word "hoshi" in this case, is often times used to refer to Earth in its purest most noble state. Or something.

Incidentally, "wakusei" has been used very, very, few times in comparison to either terms.

Substance

要素 - Youso

The composites of a person, broken down by the mind, soul, and the body.

The First Substance

第一要素 - Dai ichi youso
Corpus. The body. Not in alphabetical order of course, but it looks better this way. Dead Apostles gain immortality by having an unkillable body, but the fact is a human soul isn't able to withstand the rigors of time and unlike other beings, certainly can't withstand the force of the outer world without flesh. While the body lacks a mind of its own, it does have a personality. The 3rd personality of Ryougi Shiki is her body itself.

The soul is assumed to be found in the brain and thus the interpretation is that only the brain is needed to live is prevalent among magi, including Touko. That is wrong, however. Personality can only be developed with both the body and the mind and awareness is first achieved with the body. Discarding the body and only existing through the brain means abandoning their greater sense of self and adopting the lesser sense of self. The soul with only the mind is not self-aware and would be the same as being only a calculator. Basically, a person is a composite of all three, not just two.

The Second Substance

第二要素 - Dai ni youso
Anima. The soul. The blueprints of one's existence. The source of magic circuits and memory. Held together in the physical world by the brain. Something that's there and not there and probably one of those fields that is just as hard to decipher as the solution to Schrodinger's Cat. The record/memory body kept by the world itself. The one eternal and indestructible object in the physical world, but unable to exist without a body. Once it obtains one, its destiny is anchored together with that body. At death, the particles of the soul disperse and descend into the Root to await their next conversion.

Treatment in the mystical world is difficult and mainly limited in contexts of examining contents or moving into vessels. The soul itself is treated as energy impossible to convert and considered to be chromatic, uncolored, energy.

Whereas spirits of nature can draw on nature for energy, human spirits can consume the souls of people and convert it into energy.

The Third Substance

第三要素 - Dai san youso
Spiritus. The mind/the persona/spirit. Found in the brain. Whereas spirits of nature can draw on nature for energy, human spirits can consume the spirits of people and convert it into energy.

The Fifth Substance

第五要素 - Dai go youso
Ether. What Servants are made out of. Apparently. Better known as the element Ether of the Aristotles system.

The Sixth Imaginary Substance

第六架空要素 - Dai roku kakuu youso
Demons. A power that materializes through the wishes of humans. Just as the greater spirits also need images provided by humans to materialize. The retina of Rider's eyes are made up of this. At the same time, it's also been called ether. A different type from the 5th?

Spirit particle

霊子 - Reishi
Parts of the schematic map of the soul. Where the foundations of thought are engraved. No actual will in the spirit particles themselves. Upon the death of the body, spirit particles disperse in the atmosphere, return to nothingness, to be converted into their next form.

Servant souls

The mass of Gilgamesh's soul is said to be about the same as the mass of some 100,000 human souls or more. The other Servant souls are not as massive as his. Gil's is probably two or three times greater. Also, poor Kojirou isn't even worth one Servant soul in size.

Spirit body

霊体 - Reitai
A finished product. At this stage, there will be no further development or change to the "body". In a way, a stabilized image (photograph) instead of a maturing body.

When Servants return to their full spiritual body state, their sensations will be limited only to spiritual sensations, therefore, to actually be able to fully observe something, they have to materialize.

Spiritual disruption

霊障 - Reishou
Interference caused by the possessing spirit towards the surroundings in the form of rap sounds, poltergeists or onto the body of the possessed. Can be said to be a condition that will only manifest on the breeding ground of the demon (which would be the possessed). More or less the symptoms of "demon possession" rather than demon possession itself, as the latter is more or less a virus that doesn't spread on to other people. Spiritual disruptions caused by demons can also affect the mental conditions of the surrounding population.

Spiritual rank

霊格 - Reikaku
Just the average old term regarding the spiritual rank (age and whatnot) of a spirit (with a physical body, but still a spirit) like Arcueid or Heroic Spirits. Origami has less effect on beings with strong spiritual ranks.

Spiritual shell

霊穀 - Reikoku
The outer shell of a spirit. In the case of Assassin and Angra Mainyu, this would be the fluff surrounding their core being instead of stuff originating from themselves.

Masochistic pneumatic automatism diathesis

被虐霊媒体質 - Higyaku reibai taishitsu
The genetic condition of automatically expressing on one's body the spiritual disruptions caused by demons when close to them; detecting of the spiritual constitution floating in the surrounding area being materialized that using one's own flesh, to put it in another convoluted way. Which doesn't mean the person who has it is possessed. What's being reenacted would only be the symptoms. Not the sort of condition that would cause any real harm, but one that doesn't really offer any other benefits for anybody, other than to detect and determine what kind of demon an exorcist team is dealing with; and obviously, it will result in physical damage. Can't be gained from training since it's purely genetic, which is why people born with these traits are valued by the Church as demon detectors. Normal imagery would be of walking around the street and then suddenly bleeding for no apparent reason.

Systems

秩序 - Chitsujo

Order. Laws. Rules (referred to as such in Fate and Rakkyo). Systems. Not much to say about this or what would be a good constant term for it (or if it should even be plural or not), so it'd be better to just give a list.

1. The person that became Angra Mainyu became liberated from it by having his name removed from Avesta, a book that records events.
2. The life of the World, which is why it crushes paradoxes and phantasms.
3. With the coming of Program No. 6, it'll be destroyed.
4. Magi create rules.
5. In regards to Fragarach and on the wiping out of the enemy attack due to the rewrite: "That is the law of this world. A doubtless return protected by the absolute rule called time. But know well, ye spinners of rules. It is by concepts that concepts are defeated."
6. Nrvnqsr is chaos bound by it.
7. Magic-users have reached a region that opposes it.
8. Chaos, by losing the name Nrvnqsr, has become true chaos and can continue existing until the Sixth destroys it.
9. Creating a new one (new systems of thaumaturgy) is impossible with current thaumaturgy; unless you're someone named Ryougi Shiki (3rd personality) who can alter our reality itself if she felt like it.
10. Waruceid also refers to "dogs of this cursed order; don't even wait for the Sixth, I will annihilate all of you with my own hands....!!" in her victory quote against Aoko. The kind of resent here seems to indicate not just magic-users but all humans in general.
11. Aoko was also described by Nrvnqsr as that which destroys it; absorbing her into his Chaos wouldn't be worth it.
12. Caren says: "Yes. This is a battle between Holy Grails. Battles of higher thaumaturgy will becomes ones of concepts. These will not be about who is the more powerful, but measures of who holds the rules with the fewer tears."

Maybe a word indicating the world/laws as being shaped by the present? Creatures designated as Ma/Daemons/Mara/Qlippoth have probably shifted outside of its control, or are sort of in and outside of it.

Kind of an important idea and it would be nice if something more definately and thematically matching it could be used in English.

The Root

根源 - Kongen

Akasha. "God". The Root. The source of everything in the universe and the end of everything in the universe. The place where all phenomena originates. The goal of the magus is to reach it. One way of describing it would be "ultimate knowledge", but the term ultimate relies on parameters and reduces it to being something finite.

Araya tried to uncover it by tracing the roots of the soul, something that is there but not there (Schrödinger's cat; quantum mechanics); transparent and hence the focal point of a group conscious could be reached by working through it. Touko worked with the roots of the human body itself with the intention of creating the original human body; currently modern humans have become too complex and diverse genetically, as a result they cannot reach the grand source (which would be supported by Gilgamesh's assertions about humanity and Noble Phantasms (a number of additional powers may be developed but the weapon itself becomes too mongrelized as a result?) and the Unified Language theory). Tohsaka Nagato had believed he could reach it by reaching the state of nothingness; enlightenment essentialy.

The World

世界 - Sekai

A system that operates under Akasha. A heavenly body, Earth, Gaia.
A system that works by the preservation of Order (rules); Order itself is its lifespan. Those things that disrupt Order such as a paradoxes and what not will be crushed by it.

Doesn't wish so much as wish for its prolonged survival as it wishes for all things to be "beautiful", that is for all things on it to abide by its order and for it to be returned to order. As a result, it will accept its death should it come, as only being natural. It will not accept the fact that any of its children will live on afters its death. Order itself. Any unnatural distortion of reality or an object that isn't present in nature is attacked by the world, aka correction by the world.

Called Gaia under certain circles.

Use of the term "world" by magi implies more of universal rules that can be manipulated or taken advantage of by mankind. Humans are part of a larger system. "Gaia" on the other hand seems to denote not man as a part of the system, but man against a greater organic conscious.

World egg

世界卵 - Sekai tamago

Symbol used in creation mythology often representing rebirth. Related to thaumaturgy theory and Reality Marbles.

World pact

世界の契約 - Sekai no Keiyaku

A pact made by heroes to make use of them during their afterlives in exchange for power or other favors. Essentially, selling your soul to the world to get a miracle.

Void

虚無 - Kyomu

Objects can move in space as long as there is a void. If there was no void, things would be frozen. In hollow ataraxia, this is translated into the power of generation. As long as there's a void, the world can still continue to move.
However, this only works in relation to other objects. Nothing can come from a true void. Absolute void instead of relational emptiness.

Worth

価値 - Kachi

Evaluation from others, as opposed to absolute worth. Kotomine struggled to find a way to fit in with society but ultimately deemed that he was worthless. When his wife died, he was confronted with the realization that he wanted to kill her. Whether he wanted to kill her because he loved her or kill her because he hated her, he wasn't able to find out. The only thing he discovered was the absolute meaninglessness there was to her death in proving that he could cherish things like a normal person. He would have just committed suicide at that point, but he couldn't bring himself to devalue her life by dying or by letting anything or anybody else change him where his wife had failed. What he probably wanted to see was if someone like him (Angra Mainyu) could have had any other possibilities.
